        Stephanie Scarpa made her Rutgers-Camden debut as a member of the cross country program during the 2007 fall season, running in three meets. She ran in the 5K Cabrini Invitational on Oct. 13, recording a 27:38.25 clocking to finish sixth on the Raptors, and then posted a third-place finish on the team two weeks later at the 6K New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (37:18.94). In her final meet, at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals Nov. 10, she ran the 6K race in 31:24.7.
   
     Scarpa continued her athletic career with the Lady Raptors’ indoor track team over the 2007-08 winter season. She competed in the 3,000- and 5,000-meter runs and also ran the third leg on the Raptors’ distance medley team, which finished third at the NJAC Indoor Track and Field Championships Feb. 25. That team posted a school-record 14:44.49 clocking and the third-place finish earned Scarpa and her teammates All-NJAC Honorable Mention recognition.

        Scarpa came to Rutgers-Camden after a fine scholastic career as a student-athlete at Highland Regional High School. She earned four letters in soccer and two in cheerleading for the Tartans. She also was an Honors student who graduated 50th out of 275 in her class and was a member of the National Honor Society.

        A Biology major at Rutgers-Camden, Stephanie is the daughter of Joyce and Gary Scarpa of Blackwood.
