Jon Anderson had a fine freshman season on the Rutgers-Camden outdoor track team in 2007, capped by a third-place finish in the javelin (172-03) at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 5). That throw, the longest of his young career, earned him All-NJAC Honorable Mention in the javelin as a freshman.
Overall, Anderson threw the javelin in six spring meets, including a 164-07 toss at the Osprey Open (April 7) to finish sixth. He placed 16th at the ECAC Championships (May 17) with a throw of 148-07.
Anderson’s javelin-throwing routine includes stepping into the javelin chute with his right foot and always licking his fingers before a throw.
Anderson earned three letters in ice hockey and two in track at Williamstown High School.
A Nursing major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to attend graduate school and work in a hospital, Jon is the son of Nancy Bradford of Williamstown.
