Dan Uszaki teams up with the Rutgers University-Camden women's softball program this season as an assistant to the coaching staff. Serving as the outfield coach and student-athlete academic coordinator for the softball team, Uszaki is no stranger to the many coaching philosophies of Brian Wolverton and Mike "Doc" Medrick.

Quickly moving up the softball program ladder at Northern Burlington Regional High School, Dan soon found himself in a Varsity assistant coaching position alongside of Head Coach Wolverton.

This year, Dan begins his third season as an assistant coach under Wolverton and stated, “I feel privileged to have been chosen as a part of the Rutgers University-Camden softball program. It is truly a unique experience to learn from some of New Jersey's best coaches and I plan on taking full advantage of my time here.”

Uszaki recently became accustomed to some of Medrick's softball coaching tactics when he worked with “Doc” during the Carpenter Cup and Jim Caputo's "Play like a Champ" softball camp, hosted by Northern Burlington Regional High School and Cherokee High School. Uszaki also coaches youth basketball and cross country for athletes in the Northern Burlington district.

Uszaki graduated from Ursinus College in 2002 with a BA in English Education. He received his MA in Special Education, Guidance and Habilitation from Teachers College, Columbia University, in 2005.

Dan enjoys working with children with visual impairments and blindness within the community and often volunteers for a number of different organizations that serve children with varying disabilities.
