Scarlet Raptors tame Nittany Lions


CAMDEN, NJ (March 30, 2013) – The Scarlet Raptors dominated the Nittany Lions this afternoon with a 23-5 victory. Rutgers-Camden took an early lead with Alexa Giampietro (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) scoring the first goal just 14 seconds into the game, but another followed 8 seconds later by Samantha Gregg (Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood).  Two goals in 8 seconds is a new program record for the Scarlet Raptors (previous record: 9 seconds on March 22, 2011 vs. Wesley College).


Gregg led the team with 7 points on five goals and two assists. Sophomore Elizabeth LaBar (Oaklyn, NJ/Collingswood) had 6 points with five goals and an assist. Krystal Valianti (Oaklyn, NJ/Collingswood) added four goals and three ground balls.  Myasia Johnson (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Burlington Co. Institute of Tech) and Adjoa Oduro (Sickerville, NJ/Winslow Township) each recorded their first career goal.

The Scarlet Raptors (5-4, NJAC 0-1) will travel to Arcadia University on Tuesday, April 2nd.
