England, DiCrescenzo, Warren earn NJAC honors
POMONA, N.J. (Oct. 31, 2009) – Rutgers University-Camden junior captain Robin England (Haddon Township, NJ/Haddon Township) captured All-New Jersey Athletic Conference First Team honors, while juniors Heather DiCrescenzo (Runnemede, NJ/Triton Regional) and Jon Warren (Gibbsboro, NJ/Eastern Regional) earned Second Team recognition as the Scarlet Raptors competed at the NJAC Cross Country Championship Saturday at Richard Stockton College.
England finished third out of 65 runners in the women’s race to lead the Lady Raptors to a fifth-place finish out of seven NJAC teams. The Raptors had 118 points, while The College of New Jersey finished with 31 to win its 15th straight conference title.
England ran the 6K race in 23:07.30, only four seconds shy of her school record, set Oct. 2. DiCrescenzo finished 12th overall in a time of 24:51.12 in the race, which was won by Rowan’s Jena Peacock (22:03.90).
On the men’s side, The College of New Jersey posted its 16th consecutive NJAC title with 37 points, while Ramapo’s Kyle Price was the individual champion with a time of 26:21.88 in the 8K race.

Warren led the Scarlet Raptors by finishing 14th in a time of 27:45.31. Rutgers-Camden finished fourth out of seven men’s teams with 96 points.
The top seven runners earn NJAC First Team honors, while the next seven are named to the All-Conference Second Team.
In addition to England and DiCrescenzo, the Lady Raptors saw sophomore Rebecca Klabe (Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra) finish 39th (28:38.44) and freshman Jessica Blow (Edgewater Park, NJ/Doane Academy) place 52nd (32:00.50).
The final three Lady Raptors were grouped from 55th to 57th as freshman Nadia Mughal (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) was clocked at 32:34.62, junior Lydia Hoopes (Haddon Township, NJ/Haddon Township) was right behind at 32:34.89 and junior Jen Baciu (Haddon Township, NJ/Haddon Township) ran a 33:06.70.
In addition to Warren, the Raptors received a strong performance from senior Frank Iwanicki (Edgewater Park, NJ/Holy Cross), who was competing for the first time since being injured in a race Oct. 2. Iwanicki finished 17th overall (28:02.27), followed by senior teammate G. Brandon Gordon (Haddon Township, NJ/Haddon Township), who posted a time of 28:05.78 to finish 18th.
A trio of sophomores finished 22nd, 28th and 44th for the Raptors as Adam Biner (Fanwood, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) posted a time of 28:23.17, Jason Kendall (Haddon Township, NJ/Haddon Township) ran a 28:48.47 and Joe Bernardo (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) notched a 29:51.23 clocking.
Junior Scott McCarthy (Cherry Hill, NJ/Camden Catholic) finished 51st overall in a time of 30:15.76 and sophomore Dain Schley (Willingboro, NJ/Willingboro) rounded out the Raptor team, finishing 75th in a time of 37:09.29.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Nov. 14 when it competes in the NCAA Atlantic Regionals at Letchworth State Park in Geneseo, New York.
