2006 NCAA Division III National Champions!
The Rutgers-Camden softball team, which entered the national finals ranked #3 in the country, captured the first NCAA title in school history May 22 with a 3-2 victory over two-time defending national champion St. Thomas.

Final 2005 record: 35-8-1, NCAA Division III East Regional runnerup.
Rutgers-Camden was ranked No. 1 nationally in the final 2006 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll, which was released May 22.
Rutgers-Camden softball captures Div. III Coaching Staff of the Year
CAMDEN -The Rutgers University-Camden softball program is still reaping the benefits of winning the Division III national championship.
One month after winning the national title, Rutgers-Camden Head Coach Carl Taylor and assistants Celeste Chinappi, Megan Johnston and Brian Wolverton have received another huge honor from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. The Scarlet Raptors' staff has been named as the Speedline/NFCA Division III National Coaching Staff of the Year, and will be honored at the 2006 NFCA National Convention in Tucson, Arizona, in December.
In addition to winning the national honor, the Rutgers-Camden staff also was honored as the East Region Coaching Staff of the Year.
