Brittany Sports returns to the Rutgers-Camden softball program this year after earning varsity letters with the team in 2005 and 2006.
Sports appeared in six games and made two starts for the Lady Raptors during their national championship season in 2006. She also collected her first collegiate hit, poking a fourth-inning single during the Raptors’ 11-0 win over John Jay College (March 31).
She scored runs against Illinois College (March 14) and Knox College (March 18) and finished the season hitting .200 (1-for-5) with two runs scored.
Sports appeared in nine games for the Lady Raptors during her freshman year in 2005. Used primarily as a pinch-runner, she scored four runs and was successful on her lone stolen base attempt. She also made two plate appearances, drawing one walk to post a .500 on-base percentage.
Sports scored a run in three straight appearances against Ohio Valley College (March 16, Game Two), Ramapo College (April 4, Game Two) and Rutgers-Newark (April 9, Game One). She also had a walk in that Rutgers-Newark contest. Her first collegiate run came against York College (March 11).
Sports collected her lone stolen base in the nightcap of a doubleheader against St. Thomas Aquinas on March 15.
Sports earned a pair of varsity softball letters at Haddon Heights High School for Coach Ted Daily. She also played three years of varsity soccer for the Garnets.
A Psychology major at Rutgers-Camden, Brittany is the daughter of Judy and Walker Sports of Barrington.
