A four-year soccer letterwinner at Union High School, Vanessa Maia joins the Rutgers-Camden soccer program this fall.

        Maia was an All-Union County Third Team player in high school. She also won a state and regional championship while playing for her U-16 club team, the Pasco Thunder.

        A Biology major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to enter the medical field, Vanessa is the daughter of John and Fatima Maia of Union.
