Amber Chmura helped to solidify the Rutgers-Camden defense during her first year of collegiate soccer in 2006. Chmura played in 19 games, starting 13, and helped the Raptors post seven shutouts and a 1.21 goals-against average.
Chmura also added one assist, coming in Rutgers-Camden’s 7-0 victory over the College of St. Elizabeth (Oct. 7). She assisted on the final goal of the game at 71:41 to help Aubree McDermott complete her hat trick.
Chmura earned four varsity soccer letters at Winslow Township High School, where she also added one varsity softball letter. Playing for soccer Coach Katie Taylor, she captured an Unsung Hero Award, a Coaches Award and was named All-Olympic Conference Patriot Division Second Team.
Chmura also was an outstanding student at Winslow Township, earning membership in the National Honor Society and receiving Honor Roll recognition and several Renaissance cards.
Chmura, who also has played soccer on the South Jersey Banshees club team, enjoys swimming and singing.
