NJAC tabs Rutgers-Camden’s Dorsey
as men’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week

CAMDEN (Sept. 25, 2006) – Rutgers University-Camden sophomore forward Andrew Dorsey (Mt. Laurel, NJ/The King’s Christian School) was tabbed as the New Jersey Athletic Conference men’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week it was announced today.

Dorsey’s honor came after scoring all three goals in a 3-1 NJAC win over Kean University Saturday. It was the first hat trick at Rutgers-Camden since Tom Magoffin had three goals in an 8-0 win over Neumann College Oct. 30, 2002. It was the Raptors’ first hat trick against a conference opponent since Brian Hobson scored three goals in a 4-1 win over Jersey City State (now New Jersey City University) Sept. 25, 1996.

Dorsey is the third Scarlet Raptor to earn weekly honors this season. Rutgers-Camden senior goalkeeper David Cunningham (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) was named NJAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 18.
On Sept. 12, junior midfielder Rodney Guishard (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) was named as a member of the d3kicks.com Team of the Week.

Dorsey leads the Scarlet Raptors with six goals and 13 points through the first eight games. He also has one assist. As a freshman, he had four goals and three assists for 11 points.

In his first 28 games at Rutgers-Camden, Dorsey has collected 10 goals and four assists for 24 points.

Andrew is the son of Robert and Marcia Dorsey of Mt. Laurel.

Rutgers-Camden, 4-2-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the NJAC, hosts defending NJAC champion The College of New Jersey in a 7 p.m. game Wednesday.
