Ryan Dougherty earned three letters in soccer and four in baseball at Schalick High School, where he helped the Cougars capture the Group 1 state soccer championship in 2004. He was named All-Tri-County Conference Royal Division Honorable Mention that season as a sophomore.

        Dougherty was named to the Tri-County Conference Diamond Division Second Team in 2006 during his senior season with the Cougars. He also earned recognition on the Courier-Postnewspaper’s All-Group 2 Second Team.

        As a scholastic junior, Dougherty was named to the Tri-County Conference Classic Division First Team, earned NJSIAA All-South Jersey First Team honors and added All-State Second Team recognition.

        Ryan’s brother, Pat, was a Rutgers-Camden fullback during the 2004 and 2005 seasons, playing in 39 career games.

        Ryan is the son of Deborah and Raymond Dougherty of Pittsgrove.
