Tim VanLiew (Deptford, NJ/Deptford)

Junior track star Tim VanLiew becomes the final Raptor of the Week for the 2011-2012 scholastic year, and he accomplishes the feat with credentials never seen before at Rutgers-Camden. VanLiew ends his year as the first individual national champion in school history after winning the javelin title at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 26 in Claremont, California. VanLiew beat the 20-man field with a throw of 67.19 meters (220-05), edging the defending national champion by a mere two inches. VanLiew, who started the scholastic year as an All-American soccer goalie, ends it with his second consecutive All-America honor in the javelin, becoming the first three-time All-American in Rutgers-Camden athletic history. Only VanLiew and the 2006 softball team have captured national titles in Rutgers-Camden history.
