Although his sport wasn’t in season, nobody had a better week than Rutgers-Camden men’s soccer star Mike Ryan. The freshman forward raked in four huge post-season honors last week, beginning on Tuesday when he was named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-America Third Team. Ryan was one of only three freshmen on the All-America First, Second and Third Teams, which included 40 total players. Two days later, Ryan was recognized on the ECAC Division III Metro-Upstate All-Star Team and added honors as the Metro-Upstate Rookie of the Year. He capped his week with another NSCAA honor, earning a berth on the NCAA Division III All-South Atlantic Region First Team. The honors come following a year in which Ryan led the team in scoring with 17 goals (four game winners) and five assists for 39 points, helping the Scarlet Raptors earn their second straight New Jersey Athletic Conference title, a berth in the NCAA tournament second round, a 17-2-3 record and a pair of Top 20 final rankings. Ryan also shared honors as the Co-Raptor of the Week on both Sept. 10 and Oct. 22.
