A pair of defensive specialists from Cherry Hill High School East share honors as Rutgers-Camden’s Co-Raptors of the Week after leading their respective teams during the week of Sept. 10-16.

Volleyball libero/defensive specialist Catherine Tadeja, one of the team’s four senior captains, had a stellar performance as the Scarlet Raptors won all four matches at Neumann University’s Knights Invitational Friday and Saturday. Tadeja collected 110 digs, four aces, three assists and one kill during wins over Wesley, Marywood, Neumann and Immaculata. Included in her performance was a 39-dig match against Marywood to break both her own five-set single-match program record of 36 (set against Penn State-Harrisburg Oct. 3, 2009) and the program’s overall single-match record of 37 digs by Sue Nevins in a four-set match against Ramapo College Sept. 24, 2002. Tadeja also had 32 digs against Neumann and now leads the Raptors with 198 digs. She is averaging 6.19 digs per set. Last season she finished with a 6.01 digs/set average, when she ranked 15th nationally in Division III and set the single-season Raptor mark of 595 digs. The big week increased her program career record to 1,602 digs.

Women’s soccer sophomore Rachel Sindoni turned in a pair of stellar performances as the Scarlet Raptors posted a 1-0-1 week and allowed only one goal. Slated to play in the midfield this season, Sindoni moved to the back out of necessity due to injuries on the Scarlet Raptors. She played the entire game during both a 1-0 shutout of Widener Wednesday and a double-overtime 1-1 tie at Rutgers-Newark Saturday. In the Newark game, she scored the game-tying goal for her first tally of the season. She also helped the Raptors hold both teams to a combined 31 shots and only 10 on goal. The only goal the team allowed during the week was scored after its goalie was injured at Rutgers-Newark, the ball was cleared, the keeper was down at the goal line and play was allowed to continue, resulting in a goal 15 seconds later.
