Rob Burgess was one of only two Scarlet Raptor golfers, along with John Goff, to participate in all eight invitationals on the Rutgers-Camden schedule last spring. He averaged 89.0 for the 2006 spring semester for the best average of his Rutgers-Camden career.

        Burgess has played in 25 invitationals in his six collegiate semesters, posting a 91.0 average.

        The 2006 spring semester saw Burgess shoot a round of 84 against Richard Stockton College May 1, tying him for medalist honors on the day. It marked the first medalist honors for Burgess at Rutgers-Camden. He also shot an 84 at the Wesley College Invitational (April 20), and recorded an 86 at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptors Spring Invitational (April 28).

        Last fall Burgess competed in one invitational, shooting a 92 at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptors Fall Invitational (Oct. 28, 2005). He competed in seven of the Scarlet Raptors’ eight invitationals during the 2005 spring season, posting a 91.9 average. His best outing came at Wesley College (April 14, 2005), when he finished third on the Raptors with an 81.

        Burgess shot an 84 at Susquehanna (April 7, 2005) to tie for third on the team. Prior to that spring, his career best of 87 came at Susquehanna on March 25, 2004.

        Burgess, who serves on Rutgers-Camden’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), was an honors student and a three-year varsity letterman for Coach Gerry Scharff at Gloucester Catholic High School. He was named team MVP as a senior.

        A Finance major with an Economics minor at Rutgers-Camden, Burgess plans to become a financial advisor. Rob is the son of Robert and Roxanne Burgess of Sewell.
