Michael Nauss has had a fine collegiate golfing career since joining the Scarlet Raptors’ program during the 2005 fall semester. In 18 career matches, Nauss owns an 86.2 average.
Nauss was limited to only two matches during the fall 2007 season. After missing the entire 2007 spring season, Nauss returned to collegiate golf in a big fashion, posting a 79 to tie for first on the Raptors at the Bent Creek Invitational (Oct. 8). He also shot a 98 to finish third on the team at the Muhlenberg Invitational (Oct. 15).
During the 2006 fall season, Nauss averaged 87.4 in five matches to post the third-best average on the Scarlet Raptors. He shot an 85 at the Wesley College Fall Invitational (Sept. 14), when he finished second on the team. He tied for team medalist honors with an 84 at the Moravian College Fall Golf Invitational (Sept. 21) and was third on the team with an 83 at the Lebanon Valley College Fall Golf Tournament (Sept. 25). He also tied for Rutgers-Camden medalist honors at the Susquehanna University Fall Golf Classic, when he shot an 87. In his season-ending tournament, he shot a 98 to finish fifth on the team at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptors Fall Invitational (Oct. 27).
Nauss competed in six invitationals during the 2006 spring season, tying for second on the club with a round of 82 at the Susquehanna University Tee-Off Tournament (April 6) and carding an 84 at the Wesley College Invitational (April 20). Overall, he averaged 87.3 in his six outings, including 85.2 over the last five invitationals after a tough season-opening 98 at Lebanon Valley College (April 3).
Nauss had a fine first semester as a collegiate golfer, shooting 82.8 over five invitationals to finish with the third-best average on the team during the 2005 fall season. He carded his best round of 80 at his first event, the Wesley College Invitational (Sept. 8). He added an 81 at the Lebanon Valley College Fall Invitational (Sept. 26) to finish third on the team.
Nauss was a three-year golf letterman at Paul VI High School for Coach John Hilliard. He earned First Team and Second Team all-conference honors during his scholastic career.
Michael is the son of John and Monica Nauss of Hilltop.
