The Lady Raptors finished 23rd out of 32 boats at the Head of the Charles in Boston.

Fleming competed in all six of the Lady Raptors’ regattas during the 2006 spring season, rowing the 4 seat on the Women’s Varsity Eight boat. She also rowed the 2 seat on the Varsity Four at the Murphy Cup March 25 and was in the bow for that boat at both the Knecht Cup (April 8-9) and the Johns Hopkins Invitational (April 15). The Raptors’ Four boat finished second at the Murphy Cup and posted its top time of the season (7:53) in a fourth-place finish at Johns Hopkins. The Eight boat also had its top time at Johns Hopkins, finishing third in the final with a 6:48 clocking.

Fleming rowed in the 2 seat in three races with the Lady Raptors’ Four boat at the Navy Day Regatta (Oct. 15) and the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta (Oct. 29) during the 2005 fall season. She also was in the 7 seat with the Women’s Dad Vail Eight+ boat at the Navy Day Regatta.

Fleming competed in the stroke, 2 and 6 seats during the 2005 spring season with the Lady Raptors’ crew team. She was the 6 seat when the Raptors earned their first victory in program history, winning the Women’s Frosh/Novice Eight Div. III Finals at the Knecht Cup Regatta April 17, 2005.

Fleming was the Lady Raptors’ 3 seat in four of the five races during Rutgers-Camden’s first varsity season in the fall of 2004, including the program’s varsity debut at the Head of the Ohio Regatta (Oct. 2). She joined the Rutgers-Camden program after rowing two years at Collingswood High School for Coach Danielle Frolow, who served as an assistant coach with the Raptors during the 2004-05 scholastic year. She also earned three varsity soccer letters at Collingswood, where she served as the team captain during her senior season. She also was a member of the National Honor Society and the French Honor Society.

A Nursing major who plans to work as a pediatric nurse, Fleming has served as a volunteer at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia.

Monica is the daughter of John and Annette Fleming of Collingswood.
