Laura Williams joined the Rutgers-Camden crew program during the spring 2005 season, just in time to play a role in the Lady Raptors’ first varsity victory. She was in the 7 seat when the Women’s Frosh/Novice Eight boat won the Division III Finals at the Knecht Cup Regatta April 17.
Williams made her Lady Raptor debut three weeks earlier when she rowed the 6 seat in the
Women’s Frosh/Novice Eight heat at the Murphy Cup March 26. She also competed in the Atlantic
Collegiate League Sprints (April 23), the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Crew Championships (May 7) and
the Dad Vail Regatta (May 13).
Last fall Williams rowed the 3 seat on both the Women’s College Four+ and the Women’s Club Four+ boats at the Navy Day Regatta (Oct. 15). She also was in the 3 seat for the Women’s Open Fours with Cox at the Head of the Schuylkill (Oct. 29).
During the spring 2006 season, she rowed the 7 seat during five races for the Lady Raptors’ Varsity Eight boat, including the Johns Hopkins Invitational April 15, when the Lady Raptors finished third with a season-best 6:48 clocking. She also was in the 3 seat for the Varsity Four boat during three races, including a second-place finish at the Murphy Cup (March 25) and a season-best time of 7:53 at the Johns Hopkins Invitational.
Laura, whose hobbies include dance, dance choreography, singing and performing, is the sister of teammate Regina Williams.
An English and Journalism major at Rutgers-Camden, Laura is the daughter of Robert and Ruth Williams of Cherry Hill
