Cynthia Burt returns for her fifth semester with the Rutgers-Camden crew team after rowing the 5 seat on the Lady Raptors’ Eight boat in all six regattas last spring. She also rowed the stroke seat for the Women’s Club Four boat at the Knecht Cup Regatta (April 8-9). The Eight boat posted its top time of the spring (6:48) with a third-place finish at the Johns Hopkins Invitational April 15.
During the fall of 2005, she competed in both regattas during the Raptors’ abbreviated racing season. She rowed in three races as the Raptors competed at the Navy Day Regatta (Oct. 15) and the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta (Oct. 29). She was in the bow seat for the Women’s Club Four+ and the 7 seat for the Women’s Dad Vail Eight+ at the Navy Day Regatta. She rowed the 7 seat on the Women’s Club Eights at the Head of the Schuylkill.
During her first year with the Rutgers-Camden crew team in 2004-05, Burt played a role in the two major moments in program history. During the fall semester, she helped the team make the transition from a club program to the varsity level. In the spring she was rowing in the 2 seat when the Lady Raptors posted the first win in program history, capturing the Women’s Frosh/Novice Eight Division III finals at the Knecht Cup Regatta April 17, 2005.
Burt’s first varsity action at the 2 seat came during the Women’s College Frosh/Novice Fours at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta Oct. 30, 2004.
A Psychology major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to attend graduate school, Cynthia is the daughter of Kenneth Burt of Woodbury. |
