Renee Celentano played in one game with the Rutgers-Camden women’s basketball program last season, collecting one point in a game at Lincoln University Nov. 18. Celentano came to Rutgers-Camden after spending two years at Burlington County College. After an outstanding freshman season with the Barons during the 2004-05 campaign, where she earned honors as the Barons’ team MVP and Freshman Athlete of the Year, she didn’t get a chance to play in 2005-06 when BCC failed to field a team.
Celentano was a multi-sport star at Burlington Township High School, where she earned six varsity letters playing basketball and softball. She also was an Honor Roll student all four years.
Renee’s twin sister Amanda plays softball at Arcadia University.
An Art major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to become a sports writer after graduation, Renee is the daughter of Stephen and Annette Celentano of Cherry Hill.
