Tarell
Robinson made his collegiate basketball debut
last season after transferring to Rutgers-Camden
from Caldwell College. He appeared in 22 games,
including four starts, and averaged 2.1 points
and 1.4 rebounds. He added 27 assists, 15 steals
and a team-high six blocked shots, with three
of them coming against host Keystone College
(Dec. 3) as the Scarlet Raptors captured the
championship game of the Hilton Holiday Classic.
Robinson collected a career-high seven
points at Montclair State University (Dec. 14, 2006), aided by 3-for-5 shooting
from the field. He was 1-for-2 from three-point range.
Robinson’s
career rebounding high of five came against New Jersey City University (Feb.
3), when he also added three points and tied his career high with two steals.
Robinson was a member of the EOF Honor
Society at Caldwell College, where he was active in the tutoring program and
started a Thanksgiving food drive.
Robinson earned two varsity letters
for water polo at St. Benedict’s Prep, where he also lettered one season
in basketball for Head Coach Dan Hurley. During that season he was named as a
member of the St. Anthony’s Christmas Tournament all-tourney team.
In addition to basketball, Robinson
enjoys writing poetry.
The son of Kimberly Robinson of Irvington,
Tarell is an English major who plans to teach high school English and coach basketball.
