Liam
James was a basketball, football and baseball
letterman at Gloucester City High School, where
he also was a member of the National Honor
Society and was recognized as the Brooks-Irvine
Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Playing for basketball Coach Tom Torrillo,
James was named to the All-Tri-County Conference Classic Division First Team,
was an Al Carino Senior All-Star and earned honors as the Sportsman AC Male Athlete
of the Year in his final season. He also was named to the Gloucester County Times’ All-Area
Second Team during his senior year, when he averaged 16.6 points, 8.4 assists,
4.9 rebounds and 2.5 steals.
James also was named to the all-conference
First Team in football.
James’ interests include music,
movies and Philadelphia sports teams.
Liam’s sister, Erin, was a three-year
letterwinner for the Rutgers-Camden women’s basketball team from 2001-2004,
who served as the team captain during her senior season.
A History major who plans to become
a teacher, Liam is the son of William and Virginia James of Gloucester.
