Antoine
Miller followed up his brilliant rookie season
with an outstanding sophomore campaign during
the 2006-07 school year, tying for fourth on
the team in scoring (7.7 ppg), finishing third
in both rebounding (4.5 rpg) and assists (34)
and adding 11 steals and two blocked shots.
He finished 15th in the New Jersey Athletic
Conference in offensive rebounds per game (2.05)
and 11th in minutes played per game (31.10).
Miller
compiled eight games scoring in double figures
last season, including the last four contests,
in which he produced 47 points and 24 rebounds.
Included in that stretch was a game against
Rowan University (Feb. 7) in which he scored
12 points and added his season high of nine
rebounds. He closed that run with an 11-point,
eight-rebound game as the Scarlet Raptors
upset Kean University, 86-77, Feb. 17.
Miller’s biggest performance
came in the Hilton Holiday Classic at Keystone College (Dec. 2-3, 2006), when
he earned a berth on the all-tournament team by collecting 25 points in helping
the Scarlet Raptors win the championship. He scored 10 points in a semifinal
win over Albany Pharmacy and added high season-high of 15 points in the title
game win over host Keystone College.
Forced to play center as a freshman
out of necessity, Miller averaged 10.2 points and 5.2 rebounds during the 2005-06
season. He capped his fine rookie campaign by earning honors as the NJAC
Rookie of the Week on Feb. 20, 2006. His honors came after he averaged 20.5
points in his final two games of the year, including a career-high 28 against
New Jersey City University (Feb. 15). That total broke his previous career
high of 25 against Ramapo College (Jan. 28), which earned Miller Raptor of
the Week honors for Jan. 30, 2006. It was one of 12 games that Miller scored
in double figures during the season. Included in that total were four straight
double-digit games to end the season, during which he averaged 18.3 points.
For the season, Miller finished
fourth on the team in scoring (10.2 ppg) and led the Scarlet Raptors with a
rebounding average of 5.2. He also shot 86-for-132 (.652) from the foul line,
including an 11-for-12 performance in the game at Ramapo Jan. 28.
Among NJAC leaders, Miller finished
27th in scoring, 14th in rebounding and 10th in offensive rebounds (2.46 per
game).
Miller made his collegiate debut
at Albright College (Nov. 18, 2005), collecting 14 points and four rebounds.
He added a double-digit game at Valley Forge Christian Nov. 28, scoring 11
points, collecting seven rebounds and adding a career-high six assists.
Off the boards, Miller notched a
career-high 11 rebounds against The College of New Jersey (Feb. 1, 2006) and
added 10 against Richard Stockton (Feb. 8).
A graduate of Brimm Medical Arts
High School, Miller played scholastic basketball at Camden High School for
South Jersey’s all-time winningest coach, Clarence Turner. He helped
to lead the Panthers to the South Jersey Group 3 title during his junior season.
