        Steve Myers broke into collegiate baseball with a bang, going 1-for-2, including a game-winning double, in his first game at Rutgers-Camden. His one-out double in the bottom of the eighth inning lifted the Raptors to a 3-2 victory over Waynesburg College (Feb. 24) and earned him honors as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Feb. 26.

        For the season, the right fielder appeared in 17 games, making 10 starts. He had one RBI, five runs scored, one double, four walks and a sacrifice, while hitting .171. He also had a perfect fielding percentage of 1.000 with 18 putouts and three assists in 21 chances.

        In four starts midway through the season, Myers compiled a four-game hitting streak while going 6-for-13 (.462) with three runs and two walks. His biggest day came against perennial New Jersey Athletic Conference powerhouse Montclair State University (April 7), when he went 2-for-4 with one run scored in each game of a doubleheader.

        Defensively, Myers had his career high of five total chances (four putouts and one assist) against The College of New Jersey (April 22).

        Myers earned three varsity baseball letters and two varsity football letters at Millville High School. He earned First Team All-Cape-Atlantic League American Division honors as a senior for Thunderbolts Coach Roy Hallenbeck. He also earned recognition as one of the outfielders on the Atlantic City Press All-Area Second Team in 2006.

        Myers also was an Honor Roll student at Millville High School.

        A Criminal Justice major at Rutgers-Camden, Steve is the son of Brenda and Stephen Myers of Millville.
