        Matt Gabrielski gave the Scarlet Raptors a dangerous left-handed bat off the bench during his first year with the Rutgers-Camden baseball program. Gabrielski played in 12 games, starting six, for the Raptors and posting a .318 batting average with three runs, three RBIs and two doubles. He also drew two walks and compiled a .400 on-base percentage and a .409 slugging average. Defensively, Gabrielski posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage at first base, collecting 29 putouts and three assists in his 32 chances. He also helped turn three double plays.

        Gabrielski, who transferred to Rutgers-Camden after playing at Division I St. Joseph’s University during the 2005 season, had a pair of two-hit games among his six starts last season. He went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI against John Jay College of Criminal Justice (April 24) and also was 2-for-3 with a double, one run and one RBI against Delaware Valley College in the nightcap of a May 1 doubleheader.

        Gabrielski played in 12 games for the Hawks in 2005, making four starts, and hitting .300 (6-for-20) with four runs, three RBIs, two walks and one sacrifice fly. He also was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2004-05 school year.

        Gabrielski was a multi-sport athlete at St. Joseph High School in Hammonton, earning three varsity baseball letters and two apiece in basketball, football and soccer. On the baseball diamond, he was named to the Cape-Atlantic League National Division First Team as a senior in 2004, when he hit .413 and played in the Carpenter Cup. He also was recognized with a berth on the Courier-Postnewspaper’s All-Parochial Second Team.

        As a junior in 2003, he earned Cape-Atlantic League National Division Honorable Mention after batting .473.

        Academically, Gabrielski made the Principal’s List at St. Joseph-Hammonton every year from 2000-04. He also was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated in the top five of his class.
        Gabrielski’s hobbies include fishing and weightlifting.

        A Psychology major at Rutgers-Camden, Matt is the son of W. David and Michelle Gabrielski of Atco.
