James “Jamie” Williams played in 10 games for the Scarlet Raptors as a freshman third baseman, making six starts, and hitting .074 with three runs scored, two walks, one RBI and one sacrifice. He also tied for seventh on the team with 15 assists.
Williams made his first collegiate appearance in a start against Albright College (March 3), when he collected his first two assists. He had his first hit in the opening game of a doubleheader against Roger Williams College (March 16), going 1-for-3 and adding an assist.
Williams’ biggest day came April 24 against John Jay College of Criminal Justice, when he went 1-for-4 with two runs, one walk and his first collegiate RBI. He also added a pair of assists.
A three-year baseball letterman at Delsea Regional High School, Williams also earned two football letters for the Crusaders.
Williams served as Delsea’s baseball team captain and was honored as the Vineland Daily Journal’s Defensive Whiz of the Year.
In football, Williams was named the Defensive Player of the Year by the Vineland Daily Journal, earned Second Team Tri-County Conference Royal Division honors and was tabbed by the Courier-Postas a Second Team All-Group 3 defensive end during his senior year. He was an All-Tri-County Royal Honorable Mention performer during his junior year.
Academically, Williams is a Dean’s List student at Rutgers-Camden with a 4.0 GPA, while majoring in Finance. At Delsea Regional High School, he graduated in the top 20 percent of his class, was an Honor Roll student and compiled a 3.8 GPA. He also was a member of the Athenaeum League.
Following graduation, Williams plans to pursue his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s prestigious Wharton School of Business and become an investment banker.
